Let’s define a furry to get things going for everyone. When questioned, the majority of people including myself will respond, “Anyone who enjoys anthropomorphic animals,” which essentially implies they like creatures that exhibit human traits like walking on two legs.
Now, although others may disagree, I would even say that if someone likes anthropomorphic animals, they don’t necessarily consider themselves to be furry.
1. How the Media Seems To Portray Them
Now, I’m going, to be honest here; not all news reports on furries are horrible; in fact, there are some excellent ones that are not only respectful of the community but also present it in a way that most furries should be able to accept.

2. Sexually Explicit Content
There will always be inappropriate content online about things that are essentially harmless, but I feel like there is a lot more of it when it comes to furries, which is why it might raise suspicions and lead people to believe that all furries are like that, which is where I theorize most of the hate comes from.

3. People May Be Frightened of Them
Since when, even vaguely, has the thought of some people dressing up as anthropomorphic animals and going about their business caused anyone to feel a little uneasy?
If anything, having something like that approach them unexpectedly and ask them for something would be downright frightful to someone like a preschooler.

Most likely, and on top of that, some individuals could not even feel comfortable among furries because they can seem terrifying, which could lead to certain parts of bias and hatred towards others.
4. The Internet Picture Them “Different” Or “Weird”
Admit it, everybody who uses the Internet knows that people will outright ridicule someone who strikes them as “different,” “weird,” or simply “unique,” and furries are no exception to this rule.

Because furries seem strange and different from the typical person, the majority of people are inclined to despise them as well.
However, this is bound to happen on the Internet regardless of when it comes to pretty much anything.
What Are People Who Hate Furries Called?
Anti-furries, also known (in polite terms) as Furry critics, are those individuals who find furries and the furry fandom as a whole or in part to be repulsive, especially any and all aspects having to do with furry sexuality.

Is Being a Furry OK?
The short and simple answer is that furry is a form of art and self-expression and while the majority of it is innocent, there can be an adult element for some.

That being said, Minnesota Furs is a family-friendly organization, and all events are considered all-ages appropriate unless otherwise specified.
Some of them also tend to exhibit great interest in the sociology of the furry community.
What Is The Big Deal About Furries?
Given the fantasy-themed nature of the furry fandom, individual furries are free to create representations of them unbounded by reality.
As such, they can reconceptualize themselves with regard to age, gender, personality, or physical characteristics.
